Do You Want to Quit Your Job and Travel?

You might be asking yourself, "Should I quit my job and travel?"

I know to some this is a very frightening but quite exciting thought, as it covers an underlying fear and insecurity. The thought of having a 9 to 5 cubicle job can give you a bit of security in a sense that it is stable and pays the rent consistently. However, it can make you feel empty, suppressed, and unfulfilled.

The pull of traveling the world to experience the different wonders of culture and diversity are strong for some. However, there are some common apprehensions that many people have. You might think it as very expensive to travel and that vacation is a time when you spend money and get nothing done. You might fear the fact that after your travels you will not know what's next and that you might end up poor and miserable.

These worries are reasonable and it can feel like you might be walking into a potentially difficult situation because you could feel the risks are enormously bigger than the reward. There are also many other things that can prevent you from making that leap such as the fear of being alone and even the fear of traveling itself. You might get scared if you do take this chance that you might not get a job when you return and your value as an applicant will diminish because you're old and lacking in experience.

When you open your eyes and see the possibilities that traveling has to offer, you can gain the confidence to make that decision. Nevertheless, the decision is yours to make and yours alone, don't let anyone else make it for you.

Here are some helpful hints that could help you decide to make your dreams of travel come true. Hopefully they will lessen your fears and hesitations.

You have skills, you just have to figure what they are and who you can offer them to. How about doing some volunteer work overseas? That way, you are able to travel and do some constructive work with your time. Plus, it can be added to your resume as work experience and it will look good on future applications.

Do freelance work online. In these times, you can do anything for other people over the Internet and have a freelance job. If you have writing skills you can write blogs and articles which other people with websites and businesses can use. If you know something about building websites, either through coding or with software, you can sell your services online.

You can do these jobs from anywhere in the world and they are the perfect way to make money while traveling. Finding clients can be tricky though but if you find one it can be a start of a very profitable freelance career.

Find overseas jobs that are in demand today. You can teach the English language in foreign countries, this is a very rewarding job that has the potential to pay you very well. You can get this job by getting certified first. TESOL certifications are often required so get them while you are still at home. It can be acquired through Internet training programs and they don't cost much.

Even nurses and other health care workers can get assignments to work abroad. There are plenty of agencies that can provide job placements for such professionals. So if you are in the medical field, you can still have the opportunity to travel while practicing your profession.
