Paris is a dream destination for many travelers, but the vast range of sights can make choosing how to spend your time difficult. Here are the top sights:
1. Le Tour Eiffel: One can not go to Paris without going hundreds of feet in the air and seeing Paris from above. 2. Museé de Louvre: The Louvre art museum has more than 35,000 art works on exhibit, ranging from Egyptian artifacts to sculpture to Renaissance paintings. The frequent traveling exhibits are always exceptional quality. The most famous artwork in the Louvre is Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa".
3. L'Arc de Triumphe: Overlooking the Champs-Elysees, the Arc de Triumphe is a historical marker honoring the Frenchmen who fought for France in history and it houses the World War I tomb of the unknown soldier as well as the eternal flame. Climb the stairs to the top to get a fabulous view of the Champs-Élysées.
4. Les Champs-Élysées: A little more than a mile of busy shops, restaurants and the best people watching in Paris, the Champs-Élysées is lined with chestnut trees. An excellent spot for shopping, eating and sitting at an outdoor café watching the world go by.
5. Le Quartier Latin: The Latin Quarter, like so much of Paris, is full of little cafés and restaurants, but its raison d'être is to serve as home to many universities, schools and throngs of students from all over the world. A youthful, exciting area of the Left Bank.
6. Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris: This imposing architectural masterpiece is a Parisian landmark. Situated on as island in the Seine River, the Gothic cathedral dates from the 12th century. One must not miss this when in Paris ' even just from the outside.
